Nordic Walking uses poles to create a gentle workout for the upper and lower body. It has been shown to improve gait, posture, and muscle strength, particularly in the back and abdomen. The sociable group sessions encourage people to explore natural surroundings together.
The workshops are taught by experienced instructor, Anne Mills. Over 100 local people have taken part since the group launched last year.
Poles are provided and, after completing the workshop, attendees are welcome to sign-up to the Nordic Walking Group’s Wednesday morning walks.
Lu said: "I love the Nordic Walking sessions led by Anne as it's a really good aerobic workout and also great fun.
“I've learnt so much about how to walk correctly and with better posture, and it's been lovely to chat with other group members as we stride through the countryside."
The next workshop takes place on Wednesday 26th March at 9.45 to 12.00 and costs £3. After the workshop, walkers are welcome to socialise and enjoy a tea or coffee.
